2023 European Meeting of ISMPP: Partnerships, processes, and problem-solving
On 24–25 January, the European Meeting of ISMPP convened in person for the first time in 3 years and set a record in the process, with almost 400 attendees present.
The meeting theme was “fueling creativity,” which, as interpreted by the poster and podium presenters, led to wide‑ranging discussions about how to ensure that publications have meaningful impact.
Topics covered (and summarized on the following pages) included how to develop meaningful partnerships with stakeholders, such as patients and publishers, best practice in the development and use of enhanced content, and the latest updates on standards and processes that provide the foundation of all scientific publications.
The liveliness of the meeting confirmed that, as one of the keynote speakers argued, creativity is something that can be learned, and it is as vital an approach to solving problems in the field of scientific publishing as it is in any other area.
The insights in this report are some of the things we will use to unlock possibilities in our future work. We hope you find them useful, and if you would like to discuss any of them in more depth, let us know.
